The Palestinian Cabinet adopts in its session today, Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the National Risk Assessment Update Report and the accompanying National Anti-Money Laundering Strategy, which emerged from the updated assessment. This marks a significant milestone in the State of Palestine's ongoing efforts to strengthen the anti-money laundering and related predicate offenses system, and enhance national and international cooperation in combating financial crimes.
The NRA, prepared through a comprehensive process with the participation of all relevant national authorities, and based on the assessment findings, the resulting national strategy outlines a prioritized, risk-based approach to address emerging challenges and threats and effectively directs resources towards high-risk sectors and crimes.
This step reflects the government's high political commitment to complying with the international standards issued by the Financial Action Task Force, in line with the State of Palestine risk context, In a manner that preserves the integrity of the Palestinian financial sector, maintain correspondent banking relations, and encourage investment in an appropriate legislative, regulatory, and supervisory environment.
